ABSTRACT
The Narnoo Project was located about 300 km north east of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia on the Minigwal and Cundeelee 1:250,000 map sheets and Narnoo and Moonyoora 1:100,000 map sheets Geology: The project was located within the Gunbarrel Basin, and a small sub-basin within the Gunbarrel Basin referred to as the Narnoo Basin. The known polymetallic mineralisation of the Mulga Rock Deposit is located within the Narnoo Basin, and hosted Middle Eocene carbonaceous sediments. Work done during 2009 to 2010: A composite air-core and PQ diamond programmes; ASD analysis of cuttings; and airborne topographical survey (LiDAR); down hole radiometric probing for current and historic holes; Infrared spectral analysis; extensive flora surveys; extensive re-logging programme of historic and current holes; Scoping study. Results: The work completed has shown: a) test drilling confirmed mineralisation within the known deposits at Mulga Rocks, however some discrepancies between historic assay results and EMA results were determined, which may relate to uranium loss during drilling, different assaying techniques and the deposit heterogeneity; and b) a maiden JORC Inferred Resource was estimated to be 44.36 Mt at an average grade of 550 ppm U3O8 (at a 200 ppm cut off), which equates to 24.52 Kt of U3O8 metal. Conclusions: Further exploration and evaluation work was proposed. Prospects: Assays: Ag, Al, As, Au, Ba, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cu, Eu, Ga, Gd, Ge, Fe, K, La, Nb, Nd, Ni, Pb, Pd, Pr, Pt, Re, Sb, Sc, Sm, Tl, Th, U, V, Zn
